Like most student-wives, I kissed a few luxuries goodbye when Matt began medical school. Clothes (except when absolutely necessary--and I mean absolutely.), shoes, quality hair and makeup products, home decor, coloring my hair, crafts, pricey entertainment, vacationing to Hawaii with Matt... All these became luxuries of the past/never have been.
In a day when frugality is in and less is more, I haven't missed these items too much. Sometimes I think of all I have compared to others throughout the world, and I wonder, "Who am I to want this necklace, when some people don't even have food to eat?". (I think that, but most of the time it doesn't stop me from buying! :))
(Moving on from that tangent.)
Lately I've wanted some clothes--just a few casual summer clothes since most of my wardrobe is business attire. Following a friend's suggestion, Plato's Closet came to the rescue. It's a consignment store that buys and sells brand name clothes.
My find:
$35 = five shirts and one necklace
Now, could someone please tell me how to handle a crazy nine month old while shopping?

Cute cute stuff Erin! Good finds.
Wow thats awsome Erin. Thats a great idea. I've heard of that place but never been. I might just try that it now.
Shopping with kids is always interesting. I think of it as a blessing though because I love to shop and it keeps me from going too much, haha.
There is one just down the street from me. I always think I should check it out, but have yet to actually do it. I may just have to take a peak.
Shopping has become a luxury as well these days. Not just because of money but because I love to browse and take my time...and that is impossible to find with a little rascal always at your side (or running away from you). I just wait until Nate has a day off and I sneak out during nap time.
I love them all! I will have to check out that store once and for all!
Miss you!
