Christmas Highlights 2010

It was so nice to spend a couple weeks in Utah visiting family during the Christmas holiday. We missed Layne's and Troy's families, but considering our families are quite spread out, I consider it a success that we got to see as many family members as we did!

Some of the highlights with the Pitcher's include:
  • Seeing the lights at Temple Square. Miss Independent (aka Skylie) decided that with hoards of people milling around it would be the perfect time to insist on walking around by herself, sans stroller. She LOVED the escalator in the Visitor's Center!
  • Visiting Ogden, where there's a bunch of miniature buildings lit up.
  • Watching The Inception three times, and still not understanding it completely.
We caught this little rascal getting into the flour, just minutes after I'd professed my distain for parents who don't keep an eye on their children.

Then we visited my family. Highlights with the Zane's include:
  • Celebrating Christmas Eve-eve with the traditional pre-Christmas gift opening.
  • Opening presents Christmas morning in Heber then feasting that evening at my brother's home.
  • Matt had to fly back to Des Moines on December 26, but we managed to have a blast without him by going swimming at the Kamas Rec Center (Skylie loved it!) and then eating lunch at Dairy Keen.
  • Two feet of snow fell on the eve of my departure back to Iowa, but fortunately Skylie and I made it home to Matt with no problems!

Not sure why, but I love this picture of my little girl.
Skylie quickly fell in love with Savannah, most likely due to the massive amounts of attention Savannah gave her. In this picture Skylie had crawled onto Savannah's lap to give her hugs and kisses.

This was probably our last Christmas in Utah for a few years, and we feel so thankful we got to share it with family!
