I'm beginning to think that I've lost my wedding ring for good.Tuesday night I was at the gym and had my ring double knotted into my shoe laces (Matt suggested I do that so I don't scratch the ring while I'm lifting weights). I left the gym, called and left Matt a message from a phone on campus (I remember thinking, "I need to put my ring back on," but then I spotted Matt and got side tracked.) We walked to the car and decided to splurge on Subway. We drove to Subway, ate, and then went to our apartment. The next morning I went to get my ring from my shoe, and to my horror—it was gone.
Did I take my ring off the shoes when I got home? I don't remember.
After hours of crying, searching, checking the lost and found, praying, re-searching, and more crying, it's still no where to be found.
It's probably really bad of me to even think like this (and I know losing a ring sounds like such a frivolous thing), but in my head I've just kept thinking about when President Uchtdorf's mom couldn't find her kids on the train during World War II, but her hope overcame her despair and she searched and search until she found them. (I know…losing a ring isn't even close to equivalent, but…) Now I'm just hoping and praying that some honest person finds it and turns it in…or I find it in some random place that I haven't looked yet.
I've never asked anyone to pray specifically for something (so this is a pretty lame reason to start with), but if you want to pray that I'll find my ring, I won't complain. I'd better stop blubbering now. :(

how depressing. I'll pray for you! Right now, getting on my knees.
Erin, that totally sucks!!! I do have to say that my mom has lost just the diamond out of her ring 3 times and after many many prayers, found her ring 3 times. Once it was even in the crack of a sidewalk. I really hope that it shows up.
sad day! I will definitely pray that you find it! That would be rough, I'm sorry!
that makes me sick to my stomach. Keep looking it will show up!
I feel so bad for you and I hope you find it...I would be devestated too. Like you said its just a ring but it so sentamental too...I'll be prayin for ya!!

That's so sad! Hope you find it soon. I'll pray for you!
erin, i know how you feel. i lost my wedding ring while going to two different fields for softball practice. I had put it in my jeans pocket and i think i was pulling on the strings to fray the ends and i must have pulled the wrong string and when i looked for the ring their was a whole in my pocket where the ring had been. we took a metal detector to the diff. fields i had been playing on. i never did find it. i was sad, but that was 27 years ago and i am still happily married and brad didnt' get mad or anything. he did buy me a gold band that i haven't ever lost. i hope you find yours. i miss mine especially when i am sitting in the temple. i use to shine it while sitting there. (weird huh) good luck and prayers are with you. kerry (kim's mom)
