I wrote this a couple weeks ago but hadn't gotten around to posting it until now.

Skylie,

What a crazy, fun month it's been! You spent the entire last month in Utah while your dad worked at a hospital in Bountiful for his schooling. Most of your aunts, uncles, and cousins finally got to see you, and your grandparents totally doted all over you.

I swear, you hit a growth spirit this past month and became so grown up in no time at all. Please slow down and stay my tiny baby. Deal? PLEASE?

You got spoiled this month. No doubt about it. The second you whimpered during the night, I was at your side popping in that binkie. Your cries are getting loud, and as cute as you are, I don't think your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins appreciate you waking them up in the night.

Every stage with you gets more and more fun. I'm loving it!

Some highlights this past month include:
  • You slept 11 1/2 hours straight one night! Loved it! Generally, you sleep 10 to 10 1/2 hours at night. Your sleeping has gotten much better, but you still have a rough night now and then (Don't we all?). Now we're giving you your last bottle at 8:30 p.m., and you sometimes sleep until 7 or 7:30. To think, a month ago we were still giving you your last bottle at 11:00 p.m.! I was scared you'd wake in the night if we fed you earlier, but I think you actually sleep better now that you're getting to bed earlier.
  • You go down at naps and bedtime without crying for too long. Or maybe I've just gotten immune to it.
  • You tasted ice-cream, sucked on a cracker, downed rice cereal, and drank water from a glass (When I'm holding you and a cup at the same time, you lung at the rim. It's so cute!).
  • You rolled from your front to your back on December 26, and now you're becoming a rock-star roller.
  • You discovered your toes. Mmm, yummy!
  • Your hair started filling in more.
  • You can grab and hold all sorts of things. You take your binkie out and can sometimes put it back in.
  • You're a talker. Big time.
  • One Sunday you blew raspberries the entire time while we sat in Relief Society. The old ladies thought it was adorable. So did I.
  • You grab my face a lot, and sometimes Dad's too.
  • Your favorite toys are books, anything that sounds crinkley, rattles, and items you can grasp in your hands.
  • We have yet to hear a real laugh come out of you, but you're super smiley.
  • You like swings, bouncer seats, bumbos, exersaucers, play gyms, funny noises, and to be in Snugli carriers. Most of all, you like being held.
  • You don't like being in the car when it's dark at night. Or maybe you just really love crying. :)
  • People are starting to say you look more like me. As a newborn almost everyone thought you were the spitting image of your dad.
  • You like giving kisses (AKA slobbering on my face), and I love getting them from you!

You are such a good, happy baby! We love you.

Love,

Mom
