Birthday Party #3

Skylie turned one on August 24, and she got more than her fair share of birthday treats, presents, and parties. It's not every day that a one-year-old gets three birthday parties. She didn't complain, though.

Party #1: Grandma Gloria, Skylie's babysitter, planned a joint party for Skylie and the other boy she babysits. (August 17)

Party #2: With Mom and Dad in Texas (August 24)

Party #3: With Skylie's friends in Des Moines (August 31)

Erin, Skylie, and Matt

When Skylie's buddies sang "Happy Birthday" to Skylie (okay, it was their parents that actually sang), she burst into tears. After the initial fright, she calmed down and shoveled chocolate fudge cake into her mouth like nobodies business.
We certainly weren't expecting it, but our thoughtful friends brought Skylie gifts. Some of the gifts included clothes, a stuffed animal, a puzzle, and a baby doll.
Cassie and Evan Larsen and Erin and Skylie Pitcher
The Larsen family was in the midst of moving, but they still took time to stop in at Sky's party. If that's not true friendship, I don't know what is.
Eric Larsen, Skylie, and Michelle and Kylee Barrett
Matt and I gave Skylie a baby doll and a hand-me-down stroller (Thanks, Payne's!). Although she loves pretending to be Mommy to her babies, Skylie will chuck those plastic headed creatures in a second if something better comes along—like food or the option to climb stairs.

Party attendees:
Matt, Erin, and Skylie Pitcher
Brandon, Michelle, and Kylee Barrett
Paul, LeiLani, and Kai Beeston
Lena and Theo Fox
James, Cassie, Evan, and Eric Larsen
