Six Month Pictures and Letter

Kaitlyn,
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: You are one laid-back baby. Thank you!

At least once a day strangers compliment you:

• "What a beautiful baby!"
• "Look at those big blue eyes and long lashes!" (I like to take credit for that one.)
• "She smiles so easily!"
• "Does she ever cry?" (Yes, you certainly do--but not too much.)
  

You are quite the hit at the gym's childcare, and regularly folks tell me they want to take you home or that they could cuddle you to pieces. (If they did either of those things, I'd be really annoyed to say the least.) They also remark that you're happy, easy to take care of, and that you spit up a lot. They are correct on all accounts.

You experienced rice cereal for the first time yesterday and didn't mind it too much. You're content just to be and aren't too interested in rolling over or sitting up although I'm sure you're capable of it. You let Skylie love, torment, and care for you without too much complaining--which is a big feat--considering her intense interest in all things baby.


You've been to the Children's Museum, the downtown Super Bowl festivities, and on many outings to stores, play dates, and the library.

You were sick last month and now have a lingering cough that you just can't seem to kick.


You (and I) had a rough time sleeping for a few weeks. Finally I realized you weren't getting enough to eat before bedtime. Once we began supplementing with a bottle at bedtime, you and I have both been sleeping much better! You'll usually go to bed between 7:00 or 8:00 p.m., wake up around 6:00 a.m. to eat then sleep for another hour or so.

You bring us much happiness, Kaitlyn. We love you and could cuddle you to pieces!
