Skylie regularly says she wants to cuddle with Kaitlyn. She'll get a blanket, place it over the two of them, and snuggle up to her little sister. I hope her adoration for Kaitlyn lasts many, many years.
KAITLYN'S SIX MONTH STATS
At six months Kaitlyn is an itty-bitty girl. Her weight has been dropping off her growth curve, which was already well below the first percentile to begin with. At this last doctor's appointment her curve had dropped several lines. She's also had this wheezy breathing issue that at first seemed related to the typical cold. But it's gone on for so long (three months) that our pediatrician is now recommending we see a specialist. I'm not normally one who's overly worried about my kids' health issues, and I'm still not too alarmed, but I certainly want my baby girl to thrive.
Weight: 10 pounds, 13.6 ounces; below 5th percentile
Length: 24 inches; below 5th percentile
Head circumference: 16 inches; ; at 5th percentile
To give you a comparison for Kaitlyn's size:
- At seven months Skylie weighed 14 pounds, 2 ounces and was in the fifth percentile.
- A friend of mine's three-month-old baby (who was born two months premature) weighs 9 pounds, 14 ounces.
Height: 35 3/8 inches; 25th percentile
Weight: 24 pounds, 3 ounces; 4th percentile
