The kids are sleeping, Matt's on call, and I'm settling into an evening of getting a little caught up on our blog. Up first--Kaitlyn's birthday. I'm three months late, but better late than never, right?
*****
Kaitlyn turned one the end of July. Since she's so small and a little behind developmentally, I feel like I've gotten my baby longer than most moms do. I'm thankful for that in a way. Children grow too fast, and I cling to their sweet baby innocence for as long as possible! We celebrated in the morning with pancakes and pink frosting, per Skylie's request. I'm sure Kaitlyn appreciated it, too. See how she's giving me a thumbs up.
Mid-morning we went to my visiting teachers home for a visiting teaching play date. Genius idea Kate and Crystal. Thank you. Kaitlyn's not pictured here, probably because I wanted to keep her close and protected.
Matt worked all day and night on Kaitlyn's birthday, so we saved presents and birthday cake until the following day after he had had a chance to sleep.
My wrapping job was nothing less than amazing, or something like that.
Grandparents gave the girls an IKEA table and chair set for Kaitlyn's birthday. I love it.
I forgot to buy an age appropriate candle, and no other ones could be found in the house except this one we used last year for Skylie. Good thing my one-year-old is forgiving and easy to please.
Happy birthday, Kaitlyn! We love you!
