(The preface...not the most exciting part, but worth reading)
Right before Christmas, someone in my parents' ward shared in church how her missionary son goes out every day expecting miracles to happen. And they do. Matt and I thought and talked a lot about that and how we could increase our faith, especially in regards to having children join our family. We came to the conclusion that whether those miracles came through adoption or pregnancy—and regardless of when they happened—we’d still need miracles to happen and should try to have enough faith to expect them.
But we never could have foreseen what happened next.
(The exciting part)
Only a couple days later we received an email from a birth mother attending BYU-Idaho, and she wrote that she was choosing us to adopt her baby.
Then...
Our caseworker called two days later and informed us that a different birth mother from Texas was expecting a baby girl in May and had selected us to be the adoptive parents.
But…
Before this all happened, on December 27 at 3:38 a.m. (the same morning the first birth mother emailed us) Matt woke up hearing a loud gasp in the adjacent bathroom. Crying followed. His suspicions were confirmed when I came out holding a test that read, “pregnant”.
We are so excited! I don't think I've been able to stop grinning since we found out. Matt gets a laugh out of my overactive sense of smell and my mild paranoia that my stomach is getting enormous. He also likes to make fun of how our baby's developing. "Paddle your flippers hard, you blueberry," he'd say to my stomach a while ago...(But really, he's so excited.)
We feel overcome with gratitude and feel like we've been blessed more than we could've dreamed. We would've been just as elated had only a birth mom chosen us, but for now we've put adopting on hold. We got to hear the baby's heart beat yesterday, and it was the coolest thing, ever. I'm almost thirteen weeks along, and the baby should arrive around September 2.
It's already been so worth the wait. :)

I'm sitting here crying. I am SOOOO happy for you. I've been thinking about you a lot lately, wondering about your case because I was sure a couple like the two of you would have been snatched up instantaneously. I'm glad to know that you were, in fact, snatched up right away. I'm so impressed with the amount of faith you have. What a blessing! And just think, now two other homes, two other couples searching for their family will be blessed just like you! Miracles all the way around.

I am so excited for you guys! I wondered if you were pregnant when you were over her, not because you looked it, you don't at all yet but because of the questions you were asking about being pregnant and labor and stuff. But you threw me off because you said you will still talking to birth moms and doing the fertility stuff.
I am so glad that you guys are going to have a baby and so soon. Hip Hip Hooray!!
I can't express the joy I'm feeling for you guys right now. You two have always impressed me as an amazing, faithful family. I'm so happy for this miracle in your life. Thanks for you great examples!!

What amazing news! I can't even imagine how elated you must be! And why were you up at 3:30 in the morning? Couldn't sleep because you were planning on taking the test in the morning? What an incredible conclusion to your long adventure. Hope the next six months go smooth and that you can enjoy the beauty of creating a baby. There is nothing like it, especially when it arrives and you finally get to see the little miracle. Congrats!
CONGRATULATION! I am so happy for you! I wondered if something was up when I noticed the adoption stuff was off your blog...but thought I would wait to hear news. I had a feeling you guys would be picked quickly to become great parents, but to be expecting yourself!?!?! Congrats again.
Wow three babies coming at you the sametime. That would be so cool if you could have all three but rules are rules. Sometimes I wish they could be broken. I am so happy to hear of your good news!
YAY!! Too exciting!!! Our due dates are only a week or so apart. Too bad we didn't live across the hall and our wee ones could be buddies. But then again, we'd have Addie stealing toys and body slamming them- so maybe it's for the best. :)
But seriously, we are too happy for you guys! Can't wait to see a baby bump!!
Oh yay!!!! I am soo happy for you guys! Babies are the best...congrats guys!
