Valentine's Day 2005
Matt and I had been dating—sort of—since around Halloween.
Valentine's evening after a little peck (for the sake of keeping this ikky-free):
Matt dropped the I L-O-V-E YOU bomb. It freaked me out.
Erin: "Sorry, I can't say that yet."
Matt: "It's okay."
Peck.
Matt knew better than to drop the dreaded L-bomb again, so I knew I'd have to be the one to say it when that time came.
Two months later…
I wouldn't see Matt all summer (or so I thought) and wanted to say "it" before we parted. After weeks of trying to get the guts, it came down to the night I flew to Hawaii. Matt and my parents took me to the airport. I'd forgotten something in the car, so Matt and I went to get it. After a final hug in the car, I finally managed to say, "Matt, I think I'm falling in love with you." Pause. Hug. Matt replied, "I love you, too."
And then we were ripped apart for four long months.
(Sorry, that one was kind of mushy. I'll make sure the next one isn't as ikky.)

You left out the part where you avoided me for the whole next day when we had been spending every spare minute together before that. I knew I was moving too fast...but I couldn't help myself.
Oh my gosh that is SOOOO CUTE! That happened with me and my boyfriend/fiance. He said I love you wait to early for me. I couldn't say it back until later. That really freaked him out. I won't tell you the timeline cause it was really fast. But then we were ripped apart for four months as well (my fault, I HAD to go to South America!). But I love Matt's comment about moving too fast and can't helping himself. That's so Jed, my boyfriend!
Oh so sweet! I love reading about your romantic moments with Matt. I haven't heard some of these stories. Matt is a pretty romantic guy you lucky girl! :)Happy Valentine's Day.
