Romantic Moment #1

September 22, 2005

I'd fallen asleep while Matt drove us from Lava Hot Springs to Rexburg, Idaho.

I felt the car stopping and thought we were in Rexburg.
But we'd stopped at the Idaho Falls Temple.

I thought Matt was playing a joke.

Even when he said: "Where do you want this relationship to go?"
Erin: "I don't know. Where do you want it to go?"
Matt: Started the sweet talk

I realized he was serious when he got down on one knee, pulled out a diamond ring, and proposed. My answer: "Yes, but the ring's on my wrong hand." (You think I could have let that one slide. But no.)A little over two months later...
"If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don’t expose it to the elements. You don’t make it common or ordinary. If it ever becomes tarnished, you lovingly polish it until it gleams like new. It becomes special because you have made it so, and it grows more beautiful and precious as time goes by.

"Eternal marriage is just like that. We need to treat it just that way..."

The sappy romantic in me just got all teary eyed. What beautiful wedding photos you have! Erin, you are probably one of the cutest girls I know, always so photogenic.

Happy Valentines Day!

I have been checking my google reader all day to see what you would post! I loved all of your "Top Fives."

The quote at the end of the post was great as well. I'd never heard it. I hope you both have a very happy Valentine's Day.

ps. When Ryan got down on one knee and proposed to me, he forgot to open the ring box so I could see the bling bling.

I could have let that one slide (just like you), but I didn't. :)

I've loved your little romantic moments as well. I loved the quote at the end. I need to save that one somewhere. You look gorgeous, as always, in the pics.

Yay! Seeing those pics of your wedding reminded me that I still need that picture of you and me at the temple that day. When you get a moment, I'd appreciate it if you could send it to me somehow. Thanks! Love ya!
